Hi! I’m a Lecturer in Digital History at University College London. I’ve previously worked at Durham University, The Alan Turing Institute, and the University of Cambridge.

What is a ‘digital historian’ you might ask? Well, it just means I use digitised datasets (censuses, maps etc) and computational methods (python, GIS etc) to study history. I focus on the social and economic history of Britain between 1600 and 1900, with a special interest in land, workers, capitalism, amd industrialisation.

You can find some of the datasets and code I’ve released on the data and code pages of this website.
